| Sugar Creek Custom Saddlery was established in
1987. The owners and saddlemakers are Rick and Susie Mayberry.
Since 1987 we have been making custom retail saddles and western
tack per our customers request. We build a top quality
western saddle that with the proper care and maintenance, will
last a lifetime and will be built to your specifications.
Each Sugar Creek Custom Saddle will have grooved stitching,
burnished hand rubbed edges, Belvin quick change buckles, and
domestic oak tanned leather. All the tooling
is done by hand here in our shop (no pressplates are ever used)
and every cantle, horn and back dee rigging is hand sewn.
Each Sugar Creek Custom Saddle is cut out by hand and all the
saddles are assembled with copper rivets, nylon thread, aluminum
ring shank nails, and stainless hardware. Since all the
hardware on our saddles is stainless...there is absolutely NOTHING
TO RUST OR DETERIORATE!!! If you have a particular horse
that is hard to fit with a saddle, we can provide you with directions
for measuring the horse and we can then have a custom tree
built for that horse at NO EXTRA CHARGE TO you. We also
offer a custom casting kit at a additional charge.
Over the years, we have built hundreds of custom saddles for
individuals across the United States and Europe. We have
also built contract saddles for production companies such as Bona
Allen Saddle Co., Colorado Saddlery and Pullman Saddlery but our
real pleasure is building for the individual like you! We
want to build the saddle that you have pictured in your
mind. A lot of the saddles that we build present a new and
unique challenge that keeps saddlemaking interesting and
enjoyable. We pay special attention to the quality, detail
& craftsmanship while never forgetting the desires of our
customers needs and purpose. Our goal is to build you a
saddle that you will be proud of for the rest of your life and
that can still be passed on to another family member for another
generation of enjoyment. Does this sound impossible today in
this throw away world? It most certainly is not!!
